Congrats to Michael for his paper in Chemical Science on a new method to probe cys PTM erasers!
Michael's work lays the foundation for a new approach to measure the activities of cysteine PTM eraser proteins in live cells. The method uses a "ratiometric" probe, which correlate target activity to a change in emission of two wavelengths of a probe. In this way, target activities can be better quantified in live cells, especially in heterogenous samples such as primary tissues. Michael applied his approach to study lipid regulatory proteins. Way to go!
